The Tangipahoa Parish community cares about making changes through hands on action. Keep Tangipahoa Beautiful was created to combat litter and illegal dumping on roads and waterways. A board of directors made up of 12 members will guide Keep Tangipahoa Beautiful. Volunteers and parish officials such as Parish President Robby Miller are supporters of the program.

Keep Tangipahoa Beautiful is an accredited affiliate of Keep Louisiana Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful. The previous program in the area, Tangi Clean, followed similar missions of littering prevention.

Ginger Tastet, Executive director of Keep Tangipahoa Beautiful and litter coordinator for Tangipahoa Parish, believes that the accreditation directly aids in increasing resources and bettering the attractiveness of the parish, which may ultimately eliminate littering.

Keep Tangipahoa Beautiful focuses on educating children at local schools about littering in the hopes that they will serve as positive examples for their parents and peers.
